Went to see Les Mis the other day because my kid loves it. As an aside the effort was laudable but it’s a pretty bad production of Les Mis.
On topic, we’re sitting there in the battle scene with their enhanced bullet sounds and it occurred to me that no one checked anything on anyone there. I had a big purse, no worries, nothing. It felt nice not to have to do that but also a bit unsettling in this day and age. The Anthem has metal detectors, I’m drawing a blank on the other performance spaces. |
That sounds not great tbh. |
Ive been through metal detectors at the Kennedy center before. Though maybe not for every show?
But honestly most venues don't have detectors or bag checks. Maybe they should, but your experience wasn't unusual. |
We have detector AND bag check just to get into a NBA basketball game. |
I have definitely been through metal detectors and bag check at the Kennedy center. Maybe it varies by show |
I know a bunch of the actors refused to perform the night Trump was there. I wonder if they have continued to operate with understudies. I'm always a little disappointed when I find out the performance has understudies, even though they are still usually quality performers. I just don't feel like I'm getting the best show it could be. |
