Thinking about a spring break trip to the Caribbean and can't afford the beautiful luxury resorts. Has anyone stayed at a more mid-range resort that you would recommend? Not interested in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic or Jamaica.
Thank you! |
What do you consider mid range? And do you want all inclusive or not? How many people/rooms/beds? |
When is your spring break? The week before Easter prices will be double what they normally are. |
Maybe a Divi Aruba? |
I stayed at the Sandals Royal Caribbean and it was great. |
I hear Little Saint James is popular with a certain set. Perhaps not as popular as it used to be, but it's had a lot of press. |
Sorry, I was at the Royal Bahamian.
Delicious food and lovely resort. |
margaritaville nassau |
Mid range, less than $800/night It can be all-inclusive, or not. No preference We are an extended family, so some rooms to suit two tweens, and some rooms just two adults |
800 a night for a room in not midrange. |
If you are ok with mexico, then the JW Cancun. |
Spring break. In the Caribbean. With 4 people. Midrange. |
+1. PP is right. You just can’t travel to the Caribbean affordably at Easter or Christmas. You have to go other times for that. It’s just the way it is. Resorts will be full, even at the jacked up prices. |
Grande Case Beach Resort in St Martin. |
You might want to check redweek. I’ve used that to get 2 bedroom suits at marriot vacation club properties. I’ve stayed at the one in Aruba which is very nice but they have one in st Thomas too. The only downside is that there’s typically no cancellation within 30 or 60 days so get trip insurance.
I would also check Costco which often has good deals on the mid range resorts. We stayed at the Wyndham in PR over Thanksgiving and got a very good rate there. Eliminating Jamaica knocks out a bunch of the mid range resorts though. |
