"No one is 'gutting' the Safety Net"

Yes, this is an editorial/opinion piece - and it also lays out very clearly how Democrats have been distorting what will actually happen with the new bill. Please read this and stop the constant hyperbole and hysterics.

"Democrats and their media collaborators always distort GOP policy, but the coverage about the big budget bill has kicked free of the earth. Allow us to temper the histrionics about “gutting the social safety net” with a few facts about Medicaid, food stamps and Republican priorities."

Yes, it is being gutted. The facts are the facts. They are cutting significant dollars, putting more burden on the poor and working class and gaslighting every American every step of the way.

It is an editorial in a right wing newspaper. Why would you expect anything less?

If you consider the WSJ to be "right wing," then you'd agree the WaPo and NYT are both "left wing." Right?

It's a bad bill.

Sort of. Bezos has gutted the Washington Post and completely changed both the coverage and editorial. It isn't left wing, but it isn't totally right wing at all.
NY Times is at best centrist with a leftist editorial page, but many of their political journalists play the access journalism game and are not much for critical, serious journalism the way it was practiced in years past. The WSJ is owned by Rupert Murdoch and has been a conservative standard bearer for more than a century.

I'll take the WSJ 100x over the WaPo or NYT. They are an excellent, fact-based newspaper. While their editorial page leans conservative, they never hesitate to criticize Trump when appropriate.

I mean, it's clear the WaPo changed under Bezos since liberals were up in arms that it was no longer parroting the LWNJ narratives they'd grown accustomed to. I'd say that's a step in the right direction.

MAGA =/= Conservative....maybe I should have made that clear in my previous post.

Taking food away from children so billionaires can pay fewer or no taxes is an abomination. I hope they burn in Hell

It’s really gutting what little social safety net America has. Giving billionaires tax cuts further jeopardizes social security for younger generations. Also why do we have hungry children in a country of billionaires?! The U.S. should have neither!

This is the “welfare queen” of the 2020s. I think the people who are so upset about this are just jealous.

Corporations are people my friend and those corporations get far more money from the government than the people who can’t work.

You can’t drag them back to reality, it’s too deep. We have to move on without them.
