Are the fireworks worse this year?

Illegal and very loud fireworks have been going off between 8 pm and 5 am for the last week. I’ve lived here almost ten years and never been woken up from fireworks before—these wake us up, wake the toddler up, wake up the dogs.
Are they worse this year? What on earth is going on? How do we stop this? I’ve already decided I will never spend Fourth of July in the district again, not that that will make a difference. I’ve filed 311 reports every single night and heard nothing and contacted our ward reps. |

| Where are you, this is probably pretty local. We're in Silver Spring and this year has been better than most if anything. |

| Our DC neighborhood was popping off on the 4th but I thought it has otherwise been really quiet this year. Basically no fireworks except on the 4th. Some of our neighbors felt similarly. |
