Taking my first try at cooking with harissa. I see that my local Harris Teeter has the Mina brand, in both mild and spicy. Does anyone have any brand or source recommendations? Or any other advice/experience to share? |
I don't know the Mina brand, but I absolutely love the Zwita brand spicy harissa. It's very authentic Tunisian - best I've found in the US to date. You can purchase locally at Z&Z Bakery in Rockville or online:

I love the Trader Joe’s version so much. After tasting multiple other brands, I feel it may not be authentic, as it tastes a little different, but I like the taste better than Mina or others. |
Cava harissa. Whole Foods and Mom’s sell it in tubs. Delicious. Try their other dips too. The crazy feta and tzatziki are great. |
I like the Mina brand. |
I love Cava also. |
Zwita is really good. I don’t think Mina has much flavor. |
Cava Harissa at WF is pretty good. I beat my eggs along with a dollop of Harissa for omlettes. Yummy.
Also, tastes very similar to south Indian tomato achaar, so it goes well with paranthas. |
Wegmans brand is good. I think the consensus is that it's pretty good stuff and hard to eff up. |
