Are these ads real? They are looking for guards to work at Alligator Alcatraz in the worst conditions, forced to live where they work for low pay. Click the Montreal Gazette link, it’s safe, for more info. We are seeking highly vigilant and professional Security Guards (Armed) to maintain safety and order within the custodial facility. In this crucial role, you will provide comprehensive external security, working in close collaboration with our custodial officers to ensure the secure supervision and movement of the facility population, and compliance with all facility regulations and protocols. This position requires a strong commitment to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to critical incidents. Work Environment- Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise. |
You can earn that working in Dick’s Sports without being exposed to harmful chemicals, oppressive heat, human rights abuses, hungry alligators, and flying, biting cockroaches. |
Well yes, but you don't get to torture people at Dick's so there's no real draw there for a certain type of person. They're going to have to end up helicoptering people in for their shifts. Great use of taxpayer dollars!! |
Plus you do it all knowing that clearly someone is siphoning that money To enrich themselves, because that dime store concentration camp can’t cost anywhere near what the budget allots. |
According to an article linked in the other Alcatraz thread, mosquitoes and the diseases they carry like encephalitis are one of the biggest dangers for humans in that area. And severe hurricanes, which the tents are not built to withstand. |
What's the question? Nobody is making anyone apply for those jobs, but if someone wants to, so what? Similar postings occur for overseas security roles in hellholes around the world to protect oil and gas facilities, food distribution sites in Gaza, to provide security on commercial vessels subject to attack by pirates, etc. Nothing new about jobs in difficult environments. |
GuardaWorld is a huge security conglomerate, so it probably is real. The pay seems on the low side for DCUM but 72k per year with no housing costs is going to get a lot of takers. |
Why work at Dick’s when you can be one? |
Yeah but those guys get paid a helluva more than $25 an hour. That’s what’s new about this difficult environment. DHS is seeking overseers to work in difficult environment and not willing to pay them. |
I asked Grok about staffing for the camp. Apparently around 1400 staff of all kinds will be needed to support up to 5,000 detainees:
*Security Personnel: The facility employs around 400 security personnel, including members of the Florida National Guard, who have been deployed to secure the site. Some National Guard members are being deputized as immigration judges to expedite detainee processing. Private security firms, such as GardaWorld, are also involved, providing correctional staffing. *Contractors and Support Staff: Several private companies are contributing to the facility’s operations. CDR Maguire and CDR Health, led by GOP donors Carlos Duart and Tina Vidal-Duart, are handling site preparation, engineering, and staffing a medical facility. Other contractors provide services like medical care, laundry, and recreational facilities. *Administrative and Legal Support: The facility has on-site lawyers to assist detainees,. |
This isn't hiring prison guards, it's hiring guards for the prison. Sounds like the gaiters are a no show. |
Trump wills rely more and more on military labor because nobody wants to voluntarily work for the Feds. |
Sign up to serve your country. Work as a concentration camp guard. They know that they don’t have to follow unconstitutional commands. They are going to absolutely be shipping American citizens there eventually to hold them illegally while they “investigate.” I hope that the military tells them to suck it. |
No one wants to work at Alligator Auschwitz. |
Nicely done. |
