Outside college counselors

We are interested in having one for DC but don’t know when to start. Can anyone recommend an organization or private individual they have worked with?

Start freshman year unless you only want advice on creating a list and essays. The earlier you start, the more likely your child can implement the advice and do things like adding courses, APs, and activities.

With just a little research on your own it isn't needed at all. I do regret not having someone else work with one of mine on the essay though. He was very stubborn about a really bad topic.

Is private tuition really worth it if you have to pay extra for four years of consulting about course selection and activities? Complete madness.
