Program Survey

MCPS shared this: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1fCkz2b1rVr60QIatOoSPXCLD7f1YlRRDCn3VbHrBx-o/viewform?edit_requested=true

It feels like they didn’t put much effort into creating this survey compared to the Boundary survey, yet this is just as important.

100% correct. MCPS is trying to slip this major change in without input from its stakeholders.

Also, the boundary study involves in a consulting firm - the program work is done in-house by MCPS central office staff.

It's not really a survey, it's just a link to the feedback form that's been on the Program Analysis site for weeks...

MCPS isn't known for rigorous methodology when they attempt to get input from the community. This survey just checked off a box for them.

To OP: where did you find this link? I checked emails from MCPS and website for secondary program study. Couldn't find this new survey at all. Thanks!

It was towards the bottom of the list in the “Things to know” Thursday email/texts yesterday. Seems like it should be its own important message!

Thanks! Took a second round scrutiny and finally found it! This is such an effective communication!

+1. This is not a survey. The form just says "Ask a question and/or share a comment." That's it.

It's also up at the top of the programs analysis website (the "Ask a Question" link): https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/academic-programs-analysis/

Sad that folks have to come here to understand the barrage of info.

They talked about a.whole plan for engagement on the program analysis coming up (presumably this fall), I'm guessing they decided to flag the existing question/feedback form for folks as a stopgap thing over the summer...

According to Julie Yang the BOE expects community feedback by August to inform the next round of Boundary Options.

She talks about this starting about 17 minutes into this meeting:

How they expect any actual feedback without showing cost and traffic implications is malfeasance

Yes, we've known that about the boundary study for awhile, and there's a whole separate feedback form for that. But this post (and the linked feedback form) is about the program analysis which is a different process so I don't know why you're posting this here.

You didn’t listen to the meeting! Julie says the PROGRAM study data and feedback the BOE requested at the 6/24 meeting will be available by their August meeting to inform their boundary study decisions for the second iteration.
