So I know TikTok videos are kind of rose colored, but I was surprised this corporate product marketer only works 930-530, including the time lost in the middle of the day to commute home to WFH?
Is corporate life really EOD is 530? In NYC no less? https://www.tiktok.com/@zhanghbang/video/7435088524065443114 |
F500. Typical hours for me are 8:30 to 5:15ish though I work through lunch most days. WFH. Do work longer hours if needed and it's not uncommon.
There's variations as to when people start/end the day but as long as you get your work done and are available as needed between 9-5 no one really cares. |
You do know that what you see on tiktok isn't real? |
I alluded to the rose colored glasses. But surprised they say they end at 530 — I would expect to show them as hard charging corporate warriors. |
where have you been? The younger workers (who I guess this is- I'm not on TikTok for goodness sake) are totes into work life balance. |
I work from 9 to 5:30pm in NYC.
Without the makeup of course. I am a quant. |
Lots of people only work 8-ish hours in big cities. |
Wow, I went into wrong career path here in DC! |
There are certain jobs that require insane hours like ibanking, law, accounting, consulting etc. But most people work a core 8 hours |
My core hours are 8-5 but I can be in meetings until 6 or even 7. But I’m 100% remote so I’d be commuting during that time anyway. My company is on the 9/80 schedule so we get every other Friday off. |
. Because these jobs are client facing and involve billable hours. A lot of those hours are face time. |
Ya that is weird. She’s not working 8 hours. Assuming she is being paid for 8 hours why would she post that online?
Some days l work 7, some days 10. Always equal to or more than 40/week. Time theft isn’t my style. |
What’s weirder is she is a Gen Z career coach. |
Eh not really. Did the consulting gig for a while. For any 1 hour with a client there's be 30 stuck in a conference room having horse shit huddles. |
Yep, let's change the PowerPoint for the 500th time just to keep everyone in the office longer. |
