Anyone watch it?
It's about Jayne Mansfield's life. Jayne was the mother of Mariska Hargitay. It is a fascinating, and complex, story which I found moving. FWIW, Jayne's tragic death was the impetus behind a Federal law requiring large trucks to have bars across the back so cars don't slide underneath during a rear-end collision. Who knows how many countless lives have been saved because of it. It is commonly referred to as the "Mansfield bar" on trucks. |
I absolutely loved it! Even the editing at times was even poetic, nostalgic and beautiful. Just so well-crafted, honest and loving. Beyond just a love letter to her mom, it was also about parenthood, the secrets people keep and their consequences. |
Agree. It's one of the better documentaries I've seen in awhile. Very well done. |
Thanks for your reviews. I will add it to my list. |
Beautiful memoir on film. “Thank God Zolie woke up” has me bawling. |
Yes, that was so incredible! |
Can we talk about what amazing people Mickey and her steopmother were? They gave her a loving home with her siblings even when they weren’t her real parents. |
Except they WERE her real parents. Just not her biological ones. |
They were! |
I thought it was really good. |
Agree. So much affection for her dad, I was surprised there were was no gratefulness directly expressed for her step mom. It was very well done. |
