Morale at work

Anonymous
I’m at a gov agency which is currently an administration priority. No rifs, more funding, etc.

Im in a senior role which I’ve had for several years but over the past two years Ive felt bored, under utilized, have low morale, and open to new jobs internal to the agency. The biggest issue has been how many times I’ve been assigned to lead “new” projects that go unfunded and unresourced, ending up going nowhere.

Historically I’m a high performer and people know that, so executives have reached out to me a few times now about opportunities but they end up never bringing me on and I don’t get an explanation why.

What can I do to improve this situation?

I would ask to get put on projects that need assistance. You don't want to be lacking for work in this environment.

I'm in an office drowning in work and we've recently taken on a lot of people on work reassignments who didn't have any work. If DOGE could make any changes, it would be that they could make our employees more fluid. Employees should be able to flow to where work is.
