If you are working with headhunters, what frequency are you in touch with them?
My DH is working with two different groups, and this is his first time working with one and not sure of expectations. |
| I just got a new job through a headhunter. It took six months. Early in the process, she politely told me that there was no need to touch base- she’d call me if she had any news. |
| And I’ll also add something I was reminded of by several people. A headhunter works for the company that retained him/her to fill the job. The headhunter does not work for the job seeker. |
| They’ll contact you when they have an opportunity. No need to contact them unless you have an update that is relevant to your job search. |

They will contact him if they have an opportunity that matches his skills. They should update him if he has interviewed with a company and another candidate was hired.

| The major headhunter firms are hired by the company. They don’t work for job seekers. However they are always looking for talent. I suggest you find the names of consultants in the various firms who specialize in your sector and reach out to share a resume and your areas of interest. They will likely not respond but hopefully will make sure their systems are updated with your information. |

Yep. Be someone that companies/organizations NEED to hire for but can't find candidates on their own. Rarity of skills/experience are the key to getting headhunters to notice you. Don't rely on headhunters to find a job for you. |
