If a book a hotel with my credit card but the reservation is under someone else's name, when they go to check in will they get a receipt showing how much the stay costed in total? |
The charges may go on to your card, since it was used to reserve room. The receipt is usually slipped under the door the morning of checkout, not at check in. |
In the US they will be asked for a credit card at checkin. Even if the bill is already paid, the hotel will take a card and put it in file in case of charges or damage. The person sometimes has to initial an agreement with the price, though not always. |
Yes |
This. |
Did you prepay? I've reserved with my card but then the other person gives their card at check in and their card gets charged. |
In my experience, they rarely print a receipt anymore. You can request one be printed at checkout, but typically they’ll just email the receipt to the address they have on file. |
I travel often on someone else’s CC, and most hotel chains just email the receipt to the email provided at check in. Just heads up, they may need to swipe the physical card (or a card) at check in for incidentals. Some brands, the receipt can be seen on the TV in the room. |
This is true, but I've never had it where it has to be the card that the room was booked with. Just *a* card. |
This. They would still be asked for a credit card for “incidentals” |
That stopped happening like 10 years ago. It's all done by e-mail now. |
Happened earlier this year for us in the US at a major hotel chain. |
I've had this happen a few times over the last couple of years as well. It doesn't happen often, but it does still happen. I wish I could remember where, but I don't -- I travel a lot for work. |
OP do you want an itemized receipt? Do you not want them to see what you paid? Hard to understand what your question is about. |
