Grade 12 is a good enough income for a 27 year old or not?

Would you consider it good enough to live a comfortable life if there is no debt?

Which country's currency is Grade? How much is Grade 12 worth in USD? Where would you live? How many people in the household?

I'm almost 60 and live in the Washington suburbs. Neither me nor my wife has ever made that much, so I'd call it "good enough." Yes.

It depends on what you mean by comfortable.
It also depends on what your other options are.

It's fine for your kid.

You, however, will be deemed a failure and will no longer be allowed in the club. Who on earth raises their child to be poverty level?!?

The truth is they can live on that, and even well if they're okay with a roommate, in NYC. But if they have an option to go into private tech they should strongly consider it. Just a few years of banking bonuses can create a nest egg that will dramatically improve your kid's options later in life.

$100k a year in NYC? That will go fast. You can live but you won’t get ahead on that income.

Food and rent yes; saving a down-payment or traveling, no.
