There are some super low fares to Europe on United out of Newark. Wondering if it is still the mess it was a month ago or is problems have been fixed. |
They cut a bunch of flights to reduce the flow of flights and make it less delay prone. If you see something on the schedule now it's probably running okay. |
Nope, only if bad weather or individual mechanical delays. Nothing across the board like a few months ago. |
The delays from Newark were insane last summer, before the official “problems,” so I have low expectations. Know two families whose flights were canceled while they waited at the gate and had to cancel their vscation (no available flights). |
They reduced some domestic flights but also increased the size of the airplane on most of the impacted domestic routes. So the number of seats per day per domestic route is roughly the same.
I think EWR is ok. I would deliberately have a long layover there so I would not misconnect if the unexpected happened. I would NOT try to do a 1 hour layover for a connection at EWR. YMMV. |
Study their departure board for the next couple of days and see. Good time to do this since the holiday is next week and more people should be flying. |
