I feel like I’ve had diarrhea for three weeks straight. Is this normal. My doctor doesn’t seem concerned. First month, no diarrhea and appetite loss. Second month diarrhea and kind of normal appetite. |
At least you'll be skinny. |
isn't that the point? |
Did your doctor give you any advice regarding how to treat it?
I have had it on Wegovy and need to be careful with my diet. |
Are you sure it's the med and not a stomach bug or something you ate? How is your eating? Are you getting good variety of fruits and vegetables and other plants? I guess you could try a probiotic, though no idea how effective most are. |
Yes this is a common side effect. It took my body a month or so to adjust and no more issues but the first month was rough. |
OP here… glad to hear it will hopefully mellow out because I should also mention that when I’m not pooping I’m burping or farting! |
My dad just started on it and has had the exact opposite problem. |
Op back again. Survived the three weeks of diarrhea, upped my dose from 2.5 to 5, after six weeks I have not lost a pound… I don’t understand. I’m eating less for sure! |
Well then you’re lucky. |
You might be eating less, but are you eating the correct foods?
My sis was on Mounjaro and couldn't stomach any foods except the bad ones. The smell of all meats made her so ill. If it wasn't the smell that got to her, it was the taste of the food. She reported foods either tasted metallic or rotten. The only things that never tasted bad to her were the bad foods like McDonald's french fries and sweets. She switched to Ozempic and has had better results. |
Ask Jeff to repost this in the Diet and Nutrition forum where there are many on GLP-1 medications. Reddit also has a very supportive group for Mountjaro. No need to tolerate the snark here. |
You will, hang in there. |
Track your food, it took me a couple months to start going down. |
