NP and please reach out to DCPS and OSSE. Kids are not required to read many books at all from 6th-12th grade. |

I’m sure they can find time during the two weeks they are home. The summer slide is real for a lot of kids. |

It’s not a lot. It used to be more. If they didn’t provide it, parents would complain about summer slide.
Is your camper allowed to bring the assigned reading and language packet to camp? |

I am fine with it. It is the best way to prevent the loss of learning that happens over the summer. |

I mean, sure, but aren’t they also allowed to have a summer break? It just seems absurd. They will knock it out, but it’s just annoyingly unnecessary busywork that is disruptive to our summer plans |

OSSE doesn't make those decisions. They do standards, not curriculum. |
