Watching the news tonight, they said that the planes left Missouri and flew 18 hours to Iran and 18 hours back. So a mission of 36+ hours?
Are they leaving out a base where they stopped, or are pilots really flying continuously for 36 hours? I have a job that's on the fringes of commercial aviation so I'm familiar with a universe that has really specific rules around flying time and rest. I'm familiar with infantry missions involving staying up for that long, but am wondering how that level of tiredness translates to flying. How do military pilots do it? |
They use uppers. I can’t say that is what happened here, but it is done. |
I believe they have a couple shifts of pilots and they use aut pilot a lot |
You are bordering on OPSEC info and anyone in the know will not tell you.
You might get a casual visit for asking. Just saying. |
Auto |
The orange pile of dog crap already tweeted out B2 details earlier. |
Multiple pilots, refueling in the air. |
20:30 seriously why, oh why must details need to be shared and by someone who doesn't know. #votewisely2026veteransandothers |
^ responding not to 20:30 but 20:03, didn't have reading glasses on when typing above post |
OP and thank you. I hadn’t thought about crew size and am fascinated by how they work together. And the naps and toiletries! Now of course I’m anxious about the bathroom situation. 36 hours of Gatorade and water and I would be in rough shape without a lav. |
Do you know what is worn inside uniforms ![]() ![]() |
Catheter? |
+1 All the specs are on a signal chat. Easy to get invited. |
They also stopped at the base in Pakistan. |
