New thread because nothing being done, apparently

Anonymous
This is the dozenth or more time in the last couple of weeks that I have had my browser hijacked by a virus alert scam when visiting this site - there is another thread about this with many other people complaining, but apparently nothing is being done effectively to clean the website of this crap.

So, you've lost a heavy user. No worries, there are plenty more doubtless. Bye, Felicia/Jeff.

It is not true that nothing is being done. I have never seen one of these ads. They apparently only affect Chrome and I don't use Chrome. Therefore, I have spend quite a bit of time using Chrome specifically hoping to get one of these ads.

I have repeated asked for screenshots of the ads, but have not received any. I have reported the ads to or advertising partner, and they are working to stop them but face the same limitations that I do. We can't stop ads that we never see because we don't know what to stop.

I'm sorry that this is happening to you, but it is not something we want to happen and we are doing all we can to stop. Unfortunately, we are very limited in what we can do.

Not OP, but I'll try to screen shot it for you next time -- I've gotten it twice this morning.

Jeff, may or may not help, but it says something about "Windows Defender" and a voice comes on an says "your computer has been infected" etc etc. You have to click a few times to close out of it. I experienced it today, late a.m., 6/23

Is it possible it’s only chrome on a pc or android?

Chrome on a laptop. Got one today, with confetti and me being the lucky prize winner.
