| EDP or NCSL? Which is more competitive for Boys U10 U11 U12? |
| EDP. |
| EDP |
| it depends on which level of each |
| Some major clubs have their top teams in the top level of EDP and their 2nd teams in the top level of NCSL. I personally have not seen a situation where this is reversed so I take my cues from the clubs themselves. |
Just curious, which clubs? |
| EdP is not as popular in VA-most of the games are inconvenient locqtions. |
Bethesda and Alexandria The pattern is that many of the top clubs will be in NCSL at U9. Some shift to EDP Futures at U10 but all of those games are in Gaithersburg at Soccerplex so the VA folks stay at NCSL. By U11, most of the top clubs, except Arlington, are in EDP playing with the B-More teams like Coppermine and Celtic. Arlington and their counterparts move to Pre-ECNL Virginia League. By U12, SYC, BSC, Achilles and Armour move to National Academy League with a few teams in PA that also have MLS Next badges in a de facto Pre MLS Next League. Arlington and their counterparts do another year in the Pre-ECNL Virginia League. By U13, top teams are in MLS Next and ECNL with the rest in MLS Next 2, ECNL-RL, etc. That is the current landscape. Please note, there is supposed to be a new Chesapeake league launching by the US Club clubs this year. |
| Really detailed answer, thank you!!!!!! |

As u-littles, my kids joined a small club because of the quality of the coaches
Didn't even know what leagues they played in. It's so irrelevant at younger ages where training with good coach at club and at home is most important. |
