For a little while, I've had a stupid crush on a neighbor.
He killed it last night. He revealed that he has one of the nerdiest habits I've ever heard of. And he had flip flops on, and it's hard to explain, but they killed his cuteness. I used to hate the Gen Z phrase "I got the ick," but now I get it! |
Cool, I guess?
But honestly, if this is all it takes to give you "the ick" you might want to never be in a relationship with an actual human, and just keep crushing in your mind (i.e. on whatever projections you're putting on people you crush on). |

Ok?
You sound fun. A hobby is ick? I’m sure you’re perfect in everything you do. Also, what the hell is wrong with wearing flip flops to putz around your yard? You sound slightly unhinged. |
|
It’s giving “and it had a white refrigerator”.
I’m sure you’re still single though, right OP? Thank goodness you dodged those flip flops! |
| This is hilarious. I’m sure my choice of footwear repels all the right people too. Lol. But in all seriousness, congrats on killing your crush! |
| Honestly yeah congrats. Unwanted crushes are so freaking annoying and can be hard to kill. |
| What was the hobby? |
Do tell us what is the nerdiest habit so we can properly judge you.
|
| my husband is wearing his 90 year old dad's sandals! flip flops would be a dream! |
|
That’s great, OP.
Other PPs, crushes are irrational. Therefore, the role flip-flops played here is also irrational. I’m sure if OP saw her favorite hall pass celebrity in flip-flops, she wouldn’t have this reaction. |

Meant it to be funny. I am married. Cosplay. |
| Super. Now it’s time to move on. |
| It’s wild how women can get turned off from the most innocuous things. No wonder birth rates are crashing. |
Seriously, cosplay? Those type of guys should not reproduce, |
