We just stayed at the Four Seasons on Dalton Street. Very nice hotel, convenient to shopping, restaurants, the T, and the MFA.

That's kind of funny because no hotel within walking distance to restaurants and the main tourist sites will have an airport shuttle.

We just stayed at the Courtyard North End by TD Garden and it was a great location for walking around to sight see with our kids. The hotel was modern and clean. I’d stay there again.

It’s been years and it was very cold so I didn’t do much walking, but I stayed at the Kimpton in the North End and it was nice. I grew up in a Boston suburb so don’t really know hotels there, but the north end is nice for restaurants and is very close to the T.

Liberty Hotel is nicely adjacent to North End and Beacon Hill. Good in-house restaurant, Scampo.

I don’t know about airport shuttles but we enjoy staying at the Omni Parker House or the Westin in Copley. The Back Bay area is nice too.

We stayed at the Intercontinental on Atlantic Ave and walked or took the T everywhere.

I love the Parker House for the history and location, but the rooms are small. That said, if you’re fine with small rooms it is a great hotel. We stayed at the Westin about two months ago and it was centrally located, clean, etc.
