Stupid, clueless or entitled? A copendium

Just on the drive this morning:

One car waiting at a stoplight with hazards on. Why? I was taught hazards when moving is just enough so you can pull over safely- not to drive with except funeral cortege.
Clueless?

Driver flings open driver side door streetside as I'm about to pass. I drive defensively and can anticipate, but dude, stupid! I wonder who would be at fault if I tore his door off. Probably me, unfortunately. Or a poor biker getting clocked.

Are you going to regale us with every single minor incident that you encounter on your drives?

Because if we all did that, the internet would collapse under the strain, OP.

Save it for something actually interesting.

Was the car with hazards stopped or moving? If stopped, maybe they had trouble and hazards on makes sense. If driving, there are times when hazards on is ok but you are usually driving low speeds because of some issue.

Your second example sounds like an everyday situation that we all must be aware of. It happens. Move on.

People sometimes forget to turn off hazards after they do drop-off and pick-up at my kids' school. They drive away with them.

Or maybe that car had a real problem you don't know about.

You'll understand when you get your permanent driver's license, little buddy.

If you open a door into oncoming traffic and it gets ripped off your car you will be at fault for insurance purposes

Sounds like you haven't been driving for long.

If you must slide close to a car on your right, always be aware that the driver can open their door.

Also, in case you didn't know, always check a bike or motorcycle isn't passing you before you change lanes.

Agree. What car do you even drive, OP? A Hyundai?

Compendium.

If you're going to use big words, spell them right.

Also, don't call two supremely minor incidents of any kind a compendium.

I did that once. I had to puke.

Those are always nice to watch and well deserved most of the time.
