Has anyone observed a change in admission to a college after a former AO (associate director) is hired as CCO? |
No.
Generally the former university is careful about not preferentially admitting kids from the CCO's new high school. The only way this really makes an impact is if the CCO was friends with ADs from other colleges when he/she was on the admissions circuit (meeting them at college fairs, etc). You want a CCO who was super outgoing. |
Only short term. Like when Ransom Everglades hired the former director of admissions at Dartmouth and for the first year or two, they always had five or six kids going to Dartmouth, but no longer. |
We used to not necessarily even get an acceptance every year from a HYPSM college, even though we got a 1-3 acceptances a year from the others on this list. Maybe like 3-4 kids attended in ten years.
Then an alum became an AO at the HYPSM college. We started consistently getting 1 acceptance a year. They've left and are AO at another school now but we still get 1, sometimes 2, acceptances a year at the school still. |
