Columbia

Anonymous
I’m planning a 10 day trip to Columbia this winter. Fly into and out of Cartagena.

I was thinking of doing 4 days in Cartagena to explore the city and surrounding areas.

For those that have done Columbia, would love some recommendations on what to see and do those 4 days. We are open to in the city or day trip.

Also recommendations on where to go the remaining 6 days. We are open to renting a car but would prefer not to have to fly unless necessary to go to some must see place. TIA

You should not be allowed to go if you cant spell it.

I tend to agree

Yea, OP, please reconsider your plans. Spelling the country's name wrong is really embarrassing. I have a hunch you don't speak a world of Spanish and have zero experience in Latin America?

You might want to start by spelling the country’s name properly. I thought I had wandered into the college forum by accident.

I just love South Carolina! Have fun!

People, lay off the spelling. If OP types about the clothing brand that is called Columbia a lot, her phone might just be auto-correcting.

OP, I went to Colombia right before Covid, but I did not go to Cartegena. I went to Medellin and Bogota. I LOVED Medellin. I know you said you would prefer not to fly, but it really would be the easiest way.

You said winter--will you be there around Christmas time?

I wouldn’t set foot there. It’s dangerous.

I’ve been to Bogota before. Search the forums for bogota. It was very nice and walkable. Lots of upscale shopping too, and a huge coffee shop culture. Lots of parks and people walking around w dogs. High altitude so drink lots of water take it easy and stay hydrated.

If you think that l agree you should stay away. I spent 2 months there as a cute 35 year old woman traveling on my own and had a great time. I know how to take care of myself though.
