I just got a new automatic drip coffee maker. It comes with a built in filter but the directions mention that you can also use paper filters.
Is one better than the other (obviously the paper inserts cost money, but not much). Why use both? |
| Is it a gold filter? No need to also use paper |
| Use paper filters. Sounds crazy but going without the filter shown to increase cholesterol levels! |

| Interesting! Also getting the gold filter clean takes a ton of rinsing/wasted water. those coffee grounds really stick to the filter |
| I use the gold but keep the paper filters for when I need to strain yogurt or wine gets corked or something…. |
| I use paper filters to lower my cholesterol. |
| Didn't know anything about coffee and cholesterol. But always use paper filters as it's easier for clean up. |
| Thanks guys. Today was one of those days I learned something on DCUM! |

| Coffee grounds down the sink will act like concrete when mixed with fats. One of the worst things you can put down a sink, so do whatever needed to prevent washing any grounds in the sink. |
Why are you mixing coffee grounds with fats? Or are you allowing fats to drain into your sink? Why on earth would anyone do something so stupid? |
What? |
Are you that clueless? I'll just let you spin then. |
