DD spending 3 days with friend and her family at house they’ve rented in Rehobeth. I’d like to send gift card that will cover lunch or dinner for 6.
Any suggestions? Thanks. |
Sorry, just send a card. They don't need or likely want a dinner out there. |
Give your daughter a credit card and tell her to pick up a dinner or lunch.
Depending on the age, maybe tell the host parents the plan. Like in a thank you note say “Larla has our card for emergencies and to treat the group to lunch or dinner one night. She searched online and thought Beach Restuarant 59 looked like a good option, but whatever suits you guys.” |
Do one from the SoDel restaurant group, which gives them options.
(OP, it’s a nice gesture.) |
Salt air
|
GoFish! |
+1. Very thoughtful. it’s a nice gift and 1 less day to worry about dinner. |
Disagree with SoDel, I tried to get a gift card through them and they were so unresponsive and unhelpful when their website wasn't working and I live a few hours away. I emailed and called multiple times and they said they would fix it and never bothered. |
Henlopen City Oyster House was good when we were there |
Sorry you had a bad experience. PP who recommended them and it sounds like an unfortunate anomaly. I’ve had great service from them in multiple ways over the years. |
That’s what I would suggest |
Lupo is very good, but might be a bit pricey for 6 people. Louie's if they like pizza and subs.
You could also give DD a pre-paid credit card to use towards whatever place the family chooses. |
Or how about breakfast via Rise Up Coffee? |
Egg! (although it's kind of hard to get seating for 6 there)
I know it's not in Rehoboth anymore, but Nicola Pizza is another favorite of ours. Rise Up Coffee is a good choice too. |
“Purple parrot “ is adequate and fun. Arenas is good for lunch. “The dunes” above boardwalk is okay and great ocean views. Of course, there is always “summer house.” |
