Any local 2027s going to be among the early commits come September? |
Yes |
early commits or top 20 school commits? |
2025 was a down year 2026 a little better I think 2027 will be historically bad for the DMV area. |
Curious why you think that? |
NL has the #1 2027 team in the country. So gotta imagine a few of their kids will get recruited. |
This sounds like an insecure Dad trolling for validation that his little stud is a hot ticket. |
Yes but ML DCE and others are down. Sure there will be some high level recruits but not nearly as many as prior years. HS level play also down other than Landon |
Yes - DCE is down, but ML is still top 20 despite their daddy coach and is stacked with talent. Another thing to keep in mind is that nationally the 2026 class is pretty weak. As a result, colleges were hot to get the relatively few good kids quickly, so lots of early offers flowed last September. The 2027 class is stacked nationally across all positions. With that depth, colleges can be a little more patient with the 27s, so I wouldn't expect as many early commitments nationally or locally. This time next year, my guess is the local 27s will have more commits (at better programs) than the 26s. |
#3 from Yorktown will be an early commit, easily, to an elite program. |
First 2027 just committed |
The 2027 class is stacked bc many 26’s reclassed and are now attending pg academies. The wapo 25 poy is now a 2027. One of the very best 26’s was the mvp of juniors and reclassed to 27. The summer circuit is filled with future pg’s testing the waters. That said, I expect the gp attacks, a couple Landon , 1 gz, Yorktown, maybe sjc poles, sta pole and goalie, possibly Bullis pole and GP pole to get something of note. |
They are also stacked because there are a ton of on-age players. Reclasses and PGs happen every year, and there are no more this year than previously.
27s will also get more attention because the 28 class is pretty thin - not just in the DMV, but nationally. It might take a little longer for some, but colleges will be looking to fill that hole with the abundance of 27s that are out there. |
Who? |
The wapo '25 is now a 2026, not 2027. As the PP said, reclassing has been going on for a very long time. It's not like all those PG academies were just built. Sometimes it's players feeling the need or want to, sometimes it's directed by the colleges they committed to. So expect some of these '27 commits to become '28s. |
