Where's the thread on this? This is absolutely sickening and outrageous.
If this happens, and god help us if it does, I hope some of the billionaires step up to buy it and donate it for conservancy. |
I agree it's disgusting. More irreparable harm. |
I just saw a post from a MAGA relative of mine in Colorado opposing this policy. Will she link the policy to Trump, however… Fingers crossed that the scales are finally falling from her eyes. |
This is what all those western states want. They want the federal lands to be free and open to exploitation.
Selling the federal lands off will close off access and allow the big corporations to move in. It is hilarious to hear these people scream about how bad the BLM is. So unfair! I can’t cut down trees for free and sell them. I can’t over graze plots for way under market values. Next they complain that the new owners will not allow grazing, tree harvesting is by private contract, no access to rivers or hunting. Private security keeps them off the land. F them. |
That's what I hope happens as well. Charlie Kuhn, the founder & owner of JK Moving & Storage, does that exact thing in Loudoun. He's bought dozens of properties, mainly old farm lands, to keep them from going to the highest data center bidder or developed for housing, and puts them into conservation easements. He's also done the same in Frederick and Fauquier counties. And he started a huge community year-round farm that donates all its products to various hunger relief/food kitchens around the DMV. |
Same with me, but they live in Montana. However no mention of Trump and lots of posts defending plain clothed, masked, ICE agents (? They don’t appear to be producing identification so it looks like a kidnapping) so idk if it will move the needle. |
Lotta big, beautiful land out there.
It’s, like, really big. They say “But, Sir, it’s public land, Sir.” And I say “Says who? Says who?” If I can sell it and keep the money, Or if I can ‘buy’ it, and suckers and losers pay for it, Then who’s to say that’s not terrific? I think it’s very intressting. |
No legal challenges afoot? |
Montana is exempt because Senator Daines said he wouldn’t vote for the bill if his state was affected by this. Your move, all the rest of the Republican senators. |
Once the government starts selling off assets, it can never be regained. Public lands, USPS, highways, you name it, all for the oligarchs to feast like jackels on the public. |
