What About an ICE Reward Program $750 or $1,500 for Tips? (Rumors Are False)

I’ve been hearing rumors that ICE might start offering cash rewards like $750 or $1500 for tips leading to the arrest of undocumented immigrants. Just to be clear, these rumors are false.

There is no official ICE program that pays people for immigration tips. ICE does have a public tip line, but it is meant to report criminal activity and does not involve getting paid.

Still, the idea raises some interesting questions. If a program like this were real, would it be effective? Would it help law enforcement do its job better? Would it save money ?

And on a personal level, would you do it?

Missouri has SB72 that will pay $1000 to any citizen who reports an illegal alien that is arrested.

Mississippi has HB1484 which is a bill to create a special branch of certified alien bounty hunters program.
Section 1, 6.d: If an illegal alien is arrested and imprisoned under this section as a result of a report to the information system, the person who made the report shall be eligible to receive a reward of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for providing such report

I would not be surprised to see other states follow suit, especially red ones.

if he was undocumented that fine but you only get paid if its an undocumented arrest, you can get arrested for misuse of public and emergency resources
