Town Of Chevy Chase - new school boundries?

Anonymous
The Town of Chevy Chase has always been pretty pricey and now, with Option 3 of the school boundary change options, it will go from being able to walk to BCC high school to Montgomery Blair. Will this affect home prices and make it more affordable?

Option 3 will never happen. And if you can afford $1.5 million plus, you can afford private anyway. So the only question is whether MoCo keeps the best students in the system or not.

With option 3, off course price drop will happen. But we may not get option 3. It's only one of the options right now.

It's not about the school - we actually have no problem with Blair and have heard it's a well run school. But we know that BCC has a higher overall ranking which can affect property values.

This is completely untrue. Private for one kid is easily around $50K multiply that by 13 and then by 2 or 3 and it hardly a no brainer that private would be affordable to someone who can purchase a $1.5M house.
