Are those for the past three years? Five years? 10 years?
Is there any way to filter just for the last year or two? |
I posed the question to our School Counselor and she responded that Navienace has not updated the scattergrams for colleges using any of the 2025 stats. She thought maybe it would be updated mid summer but didn't have the information. I also read somewhere else its for the past two years. |
Past 3 years. Data is updated in July. The plots are very realistic and a good thing to study. |
I think they try to "hide" a bit of information so that you won't be able to figure out who specific students are, especially for schools where there were low application rates. For example, if you know that three kids from a high school applied to Clemson, you might be able to figure out who was who. |
Our FCPS does not display the data for schools that receive few applications. It's extremely useful for looking at in-state schools, popular large OOS schools, and a few private schools. My youngest child is getting ready to start their college search and I found Naviance to be quite accurate for their older siblings. It's harder when they are just on the cusp. |
Same poster. I meant to add that for our school, when I see the occasional outliers, I know they are most likely URM students or athletes, and that is not my kid. |
If it has less than 10 applications over three years, they won’t show the data in Fcps. |
While the Supreme Court outlawed race-based admissions, they did not prohibit URM preferences (which usually correlate with a certain race or races). Those are the low-end outliers you see on Naviance. |
How about, “those may include low-end outliers including some athletes and legacies… |
And how do you think they try and hide this info? |
