Final report card doesn’t mention full time AAP

Anonymous
DC was deemed eligible for ft services and we opted in but the report card still says subject specific. The principal knows DC is in so is this nothing to worry about. If I email the AART will I be waiting until Sept to hear back?

The report card is for this year. Next year’s will say full time.

+1. The Full time enrollment starts in the fall

Is your child newly admitted or currently enrolled? If currently enrolled it should say it

but when dc was recommended for subject specific services this was on the last report card of first grade (for second grade), I am pretty certain.

That’s a local committee assignment, whereas full-time AAP is determined at the county level. That could explain the discrepancy in report card reporting. In the eligibility communication we received for DC for full-time AAP, it specifically said “this placement is effective for the start of fall semester…” there’s no reason it should be on this current report card.

Thanks for clarifying. I will avoid sending a message to the AART then.

I just double-checked and DD’s final report card in 2nd did not include full/time AAP designation, since it would be starting in the fall. It was listed on all report cards from 3rd grade on.

What does it specifically say - I only noticed that it said advanced for math, but didn't notice for others. I will check again.

Why would it be on this year's report card? The notification you received is for next year.

Maybe OP thinks she can carry around the report card and show it off at the pool. “Look! Larla got 4s as a second grader AND she’s going to be full-time AAP next year.”

I suspect OP runs a little anxious and when she didn’t see it listed on the report card, was likely concerned that her confirmation of level IV placement might not have been received.

No need to reach out to the school or AART, OP, it will not show on the report card until fall, when level IV placement begins.

Agree. It's unnerving to just get a email confirmation. It would be more reassuring to see full-time AAP indicated in SIS.
