About the same as last year

16 pages seems normal. It's a huge school district.

I have worked for the county for roughly 27 years. I love looking through the retirement list because I always see a few folks I know. I'll be on there in 3 years!

They could have additional years of service from another MD school system.

They could have been part time - they have worked more years but the sum total is less.

It looks like last year's list was about 16 pages as well.

The year prior to that, 2022-2023, has 57 pages.

Then the most recent list I have prior to that is 2017-2018 with 49 pages. But the format of this one is different where each employee listed takes about three lines and has some line breaks between each employee. Not like the single row per employee like the lists now.

From what I recall there were more retirements than usual around and right after the pandemic.

Just found the 2021-2022 list too. It's the same format as the 2017-2018 list where it's about four lines per employee. With employee name, then position, then location, then line break for each employee.

And the first page is the memo from the superintendent.

2021-2022 has 58 pages

Dr. S at Magruder. I don't know if you read here, but thank you for all your work and help while my child was there. I hope she very much enjoys her retirement. A big loss for the school though.

They could also be a career switcher who is now in their late 60s.

Private schools love to hire retired MCPS teachers.

I'm 52 and one of my teachers from HS is on this list. She must have been so young.
