5o4 plan and SAT

Anonymous
Does anyone know if a child gets extra time on the SAT if they have a 504 that allows extra time for tests and completing assignments? I'm not clear whether the 504 is just for school work, or whether it extends to tests like the SAT or ACT, AP exams and other things like that.

This is from the ACT site but the SAT one may have similar information - seems some people submit 504 plans as proof of their need for additional testing time-

you need to apply to the college board and that covers PSATs, SATs and APs. They are pretty tough - my dd was denied the first time even though she gets extra time on tests in school. We had to do additional testing. ACTs are better - the school has to submit the info and they seem to match the accommodations provided by the school. You should do it well in advance - maybe 6-9 months in advance of the 10th grade PSATs.
