ICE and Border Patrol will be providing "security" for upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in Miami

Inter Miami is poised to face Al-Ahly Sporting Club from Egypt on Saturday night, and it’s unclear who (if anyone) on behalf of FIFA or Hard Rock Stadium asked for the federal government’s security support. A now-deleted Facebook post by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection account asserted that the agency would be “suited and booted” for the event.

The vague language behind the statement is causing confusion on what role CBP and ICE will have at the game.

It’s extremely unusual to have border protection personnel serve as security for a sporting event. In the past, especially in the wake of 9/11 it was common for the Department of Homeland Security to provide logistical support — but there are no recent examples of ICE and CBP being “suited and booted.”

ICE told us they would be there as part of the security team, but they also included a reminder that all non-American citizens need to carry proof of their legal status.

Just stay away. This administration hates soccer. That is a sport for foreigners and women. And I think one of his kids used to play but those days are over.

If that’s your thinking, why even host FIFA? Shouldn’t you MAGAs be scared if people visiting the US? They could overstay their visa.

Florida is a sanctuary state. ICE will not arrest anyone in Florida or Texas. So everything will be okay. Unless people protest. Protesters will be met with lethal force.

If you're a foreign visitor to this country or someone with legal status that "looks foreign," I think it's safe to say you should now make it a habit to carry ID on you at all times that spells out your immigration status. You are not safe.

DP. MAGA is a fear and hate-based movement, for starters. Also, there may be a biological explanation since some studies involving brain scans have shown that "on average, conservative participants had larger amygdalas compared to their more progressive counterparts. ICE does not ask for ID or legal status. They arrest and ship people off the foreign prisons.

It sure seems like it. How else would they know who to stop and examine at places like Home Depot--or a FIFA game? I mean, Stephen Miller told ICE higher-ups to target Home Depot and 711, which is in contrast with the past ICE practice of looking for specific individuals for removal who are known to be violating immigration law.
