Can I get recommendations for routers or other devices that I can set parental controls on such as time limits and blacklisting certain websites?
I understand kids will easily learn workarounds but I need it as a first measure of defense. While I’m at it, how do you make sure you receive texts that are sent to your kids device also on yours? |

| Why waste your time? It isn't a first line of defense, it is a waste of time/money and fools errand. |

I believe there's a Bark app you can use to get texts.
Instead of blacklisting websites on a router I use Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi, but you have to be somewhat technical to set that up. |

I’ve tried and failed with many options. This is what I have landed on currently
I have Verizon. I have cut off WiFi to phone at 10 pm. Comes on at 7 am Apple setting downtime as above App limits on social media Qustodio I don’t have text monitoring |
Do you also cut off cellular service? |

Years ago we used the controls on our Deco WiFi extenders to turn WiFi to certain devices on or off or block certain sites. It worked when the kids were younger. We stopped when our youngest hit middle school and we realized how easy they could get around anything.
We never monitored texts. They communicate by other apps, not primarily by text anyway. |
| Eero lets you regulate who and when they are on the network. I’m sure it has more options but I do t use them |

Yes. AT&T can pause it |
| Eero! |
| Another eero |
You are pausing ATT service not cellular connection. Big difference. |
| I’ve learned I can pause my WiFi service on my router which is helpful for gaming and tv watching on home computer and tv but pretty sure that will do nothing for the phone since it runs on cellular, right? Or does blocking the router to certain devices help limit cell phones? |
