Hardwood Floor Stain and Room Size

Anonymous
We have an 1928 house with hardwood floors. Rooms are 12x14 living room, 12x15 dining room and 18x8 kitchen. We also have a small foyer that is 6 feet wide and a hallway that is 3 feet by 12 feet.

What is the best tone for red oak original flooring?

I've read that light tones can make the space bigger.

I've read that dark tones can anchor the space.

What do you recommend?

What colors are the pieces of furniture you place on the wood?

I have light maple floors and mahogany-colored furniture.

Pick 3-4 and try them out in inconspicuous places. If don't like it, let it dry then sand it out.
