I see Burke has a rec team and summer travel team for rising 5th graders. Seems they play only in the Summer. If this an AAU type team or a rec type team. Not sure if we should be looking into this if we want a competitive team?
Thanks. |

Well, its obviously too late for this summer.
Some of the local rec leagues will play their travel teams in the FCYBL winter and then put together a team to play in a summer league. They don't do spring/fall usually. |
| There is an FCYBL division one team that put their team into the BRYC rec league for the summer |
| Burke, CYA, SYA, etc. have FCYBL Travel/Select Teams (grade level varies) that plays throughout the year (Winter/Spring/Summer). These teams are more competitive than their rec teams. They compete in FCYBL winter league, spring AAU local tournaments, and summer leagues. I would strongly advise to go tryouts/open gyms. If your child is a top 3 player on a rec team, you should def check it out. |
| Look elsewhere for competitive basketball. CTAB, Nova94, NovaCavs, Team Breakdown, Beltway Ballers, and even the Fairfax Stars will all be more competitive than that Burke team. |
