Cartagena walled city hotel rec

Anonymous
Hello, I am looking for a hotel rec for one night in Cartagena's walled city. Budget around $200. Would love a small pool. TIA!

Check out Charleston Santa Teresa in El centro.

It's usually a lot cheaper to stay by the beach in Bocagrande or Laguito and just take a 5-10 min taxi to El Centro.

I used to love Cartagena, but now I can't tolerate more than 3 days.

Just curious, what can’t you tolerate about Cartagena? It is on my list of places to go.

If you've never been there, then a week trip should be ok. I don't consider it to be a very livable city, but that's not why you're going there. Most normal expats would never consider living there.

I've been there several times and it's a combination of agressive vendors, hot AF, so-so beaches, passport bros seemingly everywhere, and just overall a bit too much tourism. El Centro is really beautiful and a cool place to just wander around IMHO. Also, private beach clubs/hotels on Rosario Islands or Tierra Bomba are great and prices are great at current exchange rate. If you are smart about planning your trip, you could have a great time though.

Santa Teresa will not be under $200 a night, lol!

I stayed at Townhouse Cartagena Boutique Art Hotel a couple years ago. It was lovely and had a small pool.
