Are there any NESCAC lacrosse parents here?
Can you share what the fall ball schedule looks like? How many hours per week of practices and lifting? How much is coach-run vs. captain-run? I've heard very different things from coaches and players and it shocks me that there is no consistency. |
What are the different things you've heard from coaches and players? |
| I know some of them like unsupervised Navy SEAL training. |
I was wondering if someone would go there lol |
| NESCAC is doing a three trial period for fall ball to see how it works, this being the third year. NESCAC doesn’t like sport’s interfering with school. I believe they are allowed 10 sessions with the coach, so it could be a practice or just a get together - up to the coach. |
Key phrase 'with the coach'. Captains practices are mandatory as are the lifts. So while definitely much lighter than the spring season its a grind especially at the top lax schools in the conference. |

Not sure if you are looking for information on men's or women's programs. I can say for my NESCAC son, here are the weekly expectations: - the team lift (1 hour) at least 3 days - speed and conditioning (1.5 hours) 2 days - practice (with coaches for 10 sessions) (2 hours) 2 days - practice (with captains during weeks when there is not coach-led session) (1.5 hours) 3 days |

Sorry, meant to make clear ^ that is for the fall. Also, with his program at least, you do not go abroad for a semester. (Same is not true on the women's side.) |
