No Internet or Phones in Olney Schools

Anonymous
Most of the Olney schools had no internet or working phones today. Guess that wasn’t announced to the community.

The lack of phones is a safety hazard, especially since most smart phones don’t work within the buildings.

If there still aren’t working phones in the morning should schools be closed?

Can’t blame him for Verizon’s outage.

Phones are back on

Nope. All curricular materials are online so it was a great community building day but not much else

He’s in charge of making sure schools have what they need and safety.

This has happened twice this year at Bethesda Chevy Chase, and we get a text and email every time, but obviously they don't close the school for this. Come on, OP. Get a grip.

What *exactly* do you think he should have done in this situation?

Are you arguing that school should have been canceled? I imagine community opinion would be pretty split on that one.
