Was surprised to see a healthy representation of young boys' teams (U10-U12) from the region heading all the way to Salt Lake City for the SuperCopa (Bethesda, SYC, McLean, Coppermine) next weekend.
Do any of these teams have a chance at winning? |
| Zero chance. Go see a national park while in Utah to make the trip worthwhile |
| Silly to travel that far for that age group. |
|
It would take some doing to fly across the country for my 10 year old to play in a tournament
Too many better options for fun with those vacation days |
| Yeah like national parks in Utah! Let the haters hate themselves in their negativity.. Make the most of it be a tourist and SuperCopa is a blast and only worth it at this age. |
Coppermine and Bethesda have a chance in the older age group. I would imagine this is just a fantastic trip for families with soccer built in. I hope they have fun. How many people can say they we to Utah in their life?!?! |
Utah is top of many a bucket list I imagine |
What a waste. |
To each their own. I'd make a trip out of it if my kid's team was going and we could afford it. We know families going to Europe for soccer, why not Utah? |
Say that again out loud to yourself |
✌️ 🧌 |
True Utah, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal no difference |
| Utah all day |
Ahh yeah Utah = English Amurika! |
|
It doesn't matter if they have a chance to win. That's not the reason to go. It's a paid experience that can be fun for a player and their family no different than any other summer vacation.
These little kid tournaments mean nothing. The winning 10 year olds won't be getting pro contracts or brand sponsorships or college scholarships. It doesn't mean your pre-puberty kid is a special talent. Go. Enjoy time with friends and family. Visit a national park in Utah. It will be worth it. But realize Premier SuperCopa is just a fancy name for playing 3 soccer games. |
