I am noticing all the right wing commentators are pushing and lobbying Trump into conducting military strikes against Iran
Alan Dershowitz went on Brian Kilmeade's show two weeks ago and said Trump should strike Iran whilst negotiations are ongoing if talks fail or let Israel do it first. Ben Shapiro on his podcast show lamented that he missed the "old President Trump" on the campaign trail who had hawkish rhetoric of striking Iran. It feels like all the right wing commentators are trying to pressure Trump into a long endless war against Iran very reminscent of U.S involvement with Iraq. Benjamin Netenyanhu testified in front of congress in Sept. 2022, *before* the invasion of Iraq, and claimed Iraq had WMD's and said, "It is not a question of whether Iraq's regime should be taken out, but when should it be taken out. It is not a question of whether you would like to see a regime change in Iran, but how to achieve it." If the U.S. doesn't strike Iran, Israel will and I fear we will be dragged into the conflict. First it will be talk of striking Iran, then once we are involved and dragged into a much more difficult than anticipated conflict there will be talk of regime change in Iran. U.S. involvment in Vietnam was not meant to be long, and anticpated to be short and quick operation, same with Afghanistan and Iraq. They were all thought to be short conflicts and look how they played out. https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CHRG-107hhrg83514/html/CHRG-107hhrg83514.htm |
This is a good idea, frankly.
Do you want Iran to have nuclear weapons?? (I don’t). |
You do realize, OP, that Iran is behind Houthi terrorism, backing Hamas, and supplying weapons to Putin, right? |
Excellent point. Had we not invaded Iraq, they would have very dangerous weapons too. |
I certainly dont and the prior agreement Pres. Obama signed with Iran ensured that would not be the case and subjected them to nuclear inspections. As of now Iran has no nuclear weapons but Israel is estimated to have 100-200 nuclear war heads and does not submit to international nuclear inspections. |
You’re incapable of finding or respecting peace. You are a blight to humanity. |
If you think that's bad, wait until you hear the kind of stuff Israel and Mossad are responsible for. They make Iran look like sweet angels. |
Exactly, of course, but the usual boiler plate excuses will be invoked: terrorists, trying to annihilate everyone, hiding behind children, death cult, hiding in schools and hospitals, he was reaching for a weapon, “bad guys”, etc. It’s disorienting to realize just how often and consistently we are the actual “bad guys” in nearly all of these conflicts. |
Iran already has nuclear weapons. It's fully capable of sending a dirty bomb. We are not going to war with a nuclear power. Full stop.
|
BTW WE HAD an agreement with Iran that ensured they did not get nuclear weapons and Netenyahu pressured President Trump to ax that former deal. The former deal subjected them constant inspections to prevent just that.
Netenyahu said its not a matter of "if but when" for regime change in Iran. First the argument will be that will be a short strike/short military operation, then we will se they retaliate with their capabilities which we have all seen a year ago and then it will be talk of regime change. Mark my words. We already have armed U.S. mercenaries in Gaza to help occupy it for Israel. This is how it starts then it will be we need to stay in Gaza permentantly to help occupy it for Israel, all paid with U.S. tax money. |
Alan Dershowitz, Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, Benjamin Netanyahu. Hmm, what's the common denominator?
Netanyahu has been advocating for war with Iran along with six other countries since 90s. Guess what? He's gotten the US to start conflicts with every single one of those countries except Iran. What makes anyone think he's not going to get his way after all the success he's had. |
So tired of Americans doing Israel's dirty work.
F AIPAC. |
I don't think we are going get dragged in too far (though others will disagree). I think two forever wars have permanently changed how people think about these adventures. I don't care how many right wingers, and specifically right wing pundits who are also Jewish scream about this. No one has the appetite for more American boots on the ground in the Middle East. |
It can be a proxy/covert war similar to that in Yemen, Ukraine, Syria, etc. Then once there is some type of retaliation, we can cry about how evil Iran is to manufacture consent to allow for a more formal type of war. |
How many boots on the ground do we have in any of these places? The answer is none that are acknowledged or public. |
