Cornell and insurance

Anyone who has gone to Cornell to cycle (ivf) and is a Federal Employee -what plan did you have, what did it cover?

Thanks.

I had a consultation with Dr. Davis at Cornell. I didn't realize until after my consultation that my insurance wouldn't cover me. I even had my PCP write a detailed letter asking to go out of network because of my age and the co-culture technology up there. My doctor found research that says that it has better success with women over 40. I was denied. I have MD IPA.

It's not that simple - there are many layers to insurance coverage at CRMI/Cornell - your RE (for consults), CRMI/Cornell (for cycling & maybe diagnostic testing?), NY Presbyterian Hospital (for ER & some other procedures), the anesthesiologist (for ER & some other procedures), etc. Each one may or may not be covered under your plan. FYI...

MDIPA is an HMO and has a limited geographic area of coverage. I do not believe any of the CRMI/Cornell physicians will be covered, although if some monitoring is done down here, it might be.

If anyone has found otherwise PLEASE tell us.
