Gift ideas? $400 for mid-50s woman

Anonymous
I’m looking for a good gift idea for my sister who really stepped up recently to help with some family stuff. Budget is $400. She’s pretty typical mid-50s upper middle class. Any ideas for jewelry or other popular personal or house stuff? She’s much more into trends than I am and I’m feeling a bit lost.

Hobbies? Style? Anything to go on?

Take her away for a weekend, just the two of you.

As a similar demographic woman, I’d be happy to help my sister and it would ne so awkward if she gave me a gift!

Another similar demographic woman here- I’d like a weekend away with her. We’ve never done that and I think we’d actually enjoy it now. It could be a single night or even a day and I wouldn’t even want her to pay the entire bill. The time together is nice. I really don’t want more stuff. I also don’t want our husbands and kids there, or our parents!

That tends to cost more than $400.

Take her out to a nice dinner just the two of you. Like the new Jose Andre’s place.

Or is there something you think she’d want but feel like too much of a splurge? Ll beam wicked good slippers? Real silk pajamas? A really nice coffee grinder? These are things I would like.

For $400?! That'd be a really crappy getaway!

56 year old woman here, and I don't want or need any more stuff. After moving 2 sets of parents into AL in the oast year, it's eye opening: you really can't take it with you. I otherwords, purge while you can. And stop buying stuff
