| Just saw a student from Woodson high school running out of the building. Not one person was chasing him or anything.... Noticed him a bit later at Wendy's with someone else, mostly his friend. WILL they do anything to him? |
| Yes they will give him the frostie and cheeseburger he ordered. |
| Aren't upperclassmen permitted to leave campus during unscheduled periods, including lunch? |
|
For high schoolers?
Let the kids have some innocent fun for goodness sakes. |

This is not a new phenomenonI.
I'm old, and it went on when I was in school. |
| Better a Wendy's (literal) run than the Philly Cheesesteak Run... |
| The Wendy’s is across the street, it’s not like he went far. |
| In a hurry. Good for him! Doesn't want to be late for something he shouldn't be late for - and perhaps that something is going back to school, after lunch. |
| Citizen’s arrest? |
My middle DS did the Philly Cheesesteak Challenge when he was a senior. He was class of '21 - kid missed out on so much of his senior year due to Covid I was glad he did something fun. But I was super stressed that he and his friends were driving 100mph on I-95 and were going to get into a horrific accident. |
|
If he missed a class he will get marked as absent and the parents will get a call and an email.
But are you sure the kid isn’t a senior (they no longer have classes) who dropped by school for some reason and then rushed to go meet a friend at Wendy’s |
Maybe they will be marked absent. This was a complaint of mine at a different HS. Mine would make frequent trips to a different fast food place during the day during their study homeroom time and was never marked absent. I kept being told “everyone” does it. He wasn’t a senior. Schools technically don’t have open campuses but the kids seem to come and go at some more than others. But I remember us leaving in HS and no one chased us out of the building either. They aren’t going to tackle kids on their way out the door. |
| They are out at 10-11 am all week for exams. Lighten up Frances |
| Elementary school? Say something! High school? None of your business. |
| I thought this was going to be about a kid leaving ES, which happened several years ago with a classmate of my DC's. He was eventually tracked down and returned to school, very embarrassed. |
