Michigan didn’t seem to care about our OOS kid’s 5s. But they were applying CS.

Different answer but high rigor is one of the best ways to get into these institutions. Both DD and DS finished with 17+ APs and strong extracurriculars and both got into a majority of the reach schools they applied to. Rigor can boost you a ton.

Number one, anecdotes prove nothing. Number two, you have absolutely no idea what the admissions committees saw in your kids’ applications that made the difference - or even if it was just one thing - and you were just guessing.

You’re like the moms on the other thread who think that just because their kids got into good schools that they are now qualified to become college admissions counselors.

My kid did well in the classes but is a terrible test taker. I am just assuming that he will get 3's. does it look weird if we don't report?

The UC schools look at AP scores. “Test blind” is only for SAT and ACT scores.

They are the defining characteristic of any applications to UK / European colleges, unless your kid's school doesn't provide AP classes.

Cambridge - 5 x AP's in relevent subjects at grade 5 taken over 1-2 yrs max (not taken over 4 yrs of HS) + possible exam + interview

Oxford - same + subject specific entry exam + interview

LSE - again 5 x 5's in relevent subjects taken over 2 yrs max.
