We are looking to buy in Silver Spring.
One address is zoned to Forrest Knolls ES, the other to Montgomery Knolls. Children are 3 and 4. The plan is to stay in public for elementary. |
We loved Forest Knolls. Great community, involved PTA. Most teachers were really good. |
FYI Montgomery Knolls is K-2, then kids go to Pine Crest for 3-5. |
Forest knolls is a great neighborhood school! |
DO not go to knolls bro
that school is so ghetto i went there and i just graduated from blair |
better meaning: i went to knolls for elementary school and then moved on to graduate blair |
As someone said, Montgomery Knolls is k-2 and Pine Crest is 3-5
Forrest Knolls is K-5. The overall school climate at Forrest Knolls, especially for teachers is quite positive. Happy teachers make better teachers. |
Check the farms rate. Its an unfortunate rule of thumb for better performance |
Then you’re definitely better off with Forrest Knolls. My neighbor works as a substitute teacher in both schools. She said that several years back, the schools were quite similar to each but now she prefers Forrest Knolls, especially for the lower grades where the number of rowdy students is much less. |
Not anymore. Unfortunately there was a change in admin, and most of the good teachers fled. Below are the school climate survey results from the past two years. https://sharedaccountability.mcpsmd.org/SurveyResults/content.php?survey=2024CLIMATE&l=0&type=Staff&sch=803 https://sharedaccountability.mcpsmd.org/SurveyResults/content.php?survey=2023CLIMATE&l=0&type=Staff&sch=803 |
A new principal destroyed the positive environment at Forest Knolls. |
MKES and PCES also had great leaderships over a decade ago. |
All by plan. |
Why do you say this? |
If that is the typical writing skills of a Blair graduate who came up on that path I would say it is a path to be avoided. It is a very poor corner of the metro area and even on a pleasant middle class street, you're never too far away form a place you would never consider living. |
