Um. Sorry, wish it was true, but that is not the context of the linked article. “ Vance says US was governed by complete morons before Trump took office.”

For some context, he said that when Trump and he came into the administration on January 21, he asked some people “Where are the biggest deficiencies in our supply chains? What are the 100 products that we're completely reliant on some other entity to make for us? Where are they made, and how hard would it be to onshore that manufacturing?”, and the answer was, “We don’t know.”

Umm, who did you ask, bro? There are a lot of people in government and they know lots of things but you need to find the right people to ask the right questions. Elon Musk and DOGE had the same problem - they went in, thinking that the government is set up like a regular small business or small bank, and started cutting. They didn't ask anyone about how it worked or why things were set up that way. Vance still doesn't seem to know this, either. (Trump is a lost cause, he neither knows nor cares.)
